What we collect
- Account owners: your email address and the content you create (releases, settings, requests).
- Readers and voters on your pages: an email address if they subscribe or leave one to be notified, votes and comments they post, and a random identifier stored in their browser so a vote is counted once.
- Usage: simple counts of page views and widget opens per project, with no personal identifiers.
How we use it
To run the service: sign you in, show your pages, send the emails you ask us to send, and keep Shipnoted secure and reliable. We do not sell personal data and we do not use readers’ email addresses for our own marketing.
Who is who
For your subscribers and voters, you are the controller and we process their data on your behalf. For your own account, we are the controller.
Service providers
We use providers for hosting, email delivery, payments and, if you use AI drafts, a language model that receives the pull request titles and descriptions you submit. They may only use data to provide their service to us.
Your rights
You can export your subscribers, delete releases, requests and projects from the dashboard, and ask us to delete your account. Readers can unsubscribe with the link in every email.
Retention
We keep data while your account is active. Deleted projects are removed from our systems, and backups expire on a rolling basis.
Cookies and storage
We use a sign-in cookie for the dashboard. Public pages and the widget use the browser’s local storage for the vote identifier and “last seen” state. No advertising cookies.
