The gap

Users ask. You ship. And nobody connects the two.

A changelog nobody opens

A page on a forgotten URL. Users never learn that the thing they wanted exists.

A board that goes stale

Requests pile up, statuses drift, and the people who asked never hear back.

A roadmap that is a screenshot

Out of date the day after you post it, and disconnected from what you actually shipped.

Shipnoted keeps all three in one place, so a vote becomes a plan, a plan becomes a release, and a release becomes an email to the people who asked.

Design

Your design, not ours.

Every page is typeset like an editorial log, then themed to match you. Five themes, your own accent colour, your choice of type and corners. Try it. This is the real thing.

Components

Not an iframe. Source files in your repo.

One command installs the “What’s new” popup, the changelog page and the feedback board straight into your codebase. They are built with shadcn/ui conventions, read your data from our API, and are yours to edit.

  • Match your design system exactly, because they are part of it
  • No third-party styles fighting yours, and nothing to override
  • Prefer plain HTML? One script tag does the same job

AI release notes

Release notes that write themselves.

Connect GitHub. Merged pull requests are collected as you work. When you tag a release, Shipnoted writes the notes for your users, skips the chores, and links the requests you just answered. You read it, edit it, and publish.

Merged this week

  • feat: dark theme tokens for boards and lists
  • feat: follow the system colour scheme
  • fix: chart contrast in dark mode
  • perf: skeletons match the theme
  • chore: bump dependencies

Draft · you review before it goes live

Dark mode, finally

Northwind now has a proper dark theme. It follows your system by default.

New

  • Dark theme across boards and lists
  • Follows the system colour scheme

Improved

  • Chart contrast and skeletons now match the theme

Closes Dark mode for the whole app · 184 voters get an email

Using Claude Code or Cursor? The MCP server lets your agent draft and publish releases too.

The widget

Where your users already are.

A “What’s new” button inside your app, with a dot when something is unread. One script tag, tiny, themed to your product, and it lets people suggest ideas without leaving.

  • About 6 KB gzipped, no dependencies, isolated from your CSS
  • Opens from your own button if you prefer
  • Duplicate requests are caught while people type

Questions

Things people ask

Is there really a free plan?

Yes, and it is the whole product: one project with a changelog, feedback board, roadmap, the widget and the components. Pro adds your own domain, no badge, AI notes from GitHub, voter emails, the API and more.

Do you charge per user or per tracked user?

No. Plans are a flat price per workspace. Your readers, voters and widget loads are never counted against you.

How does the AI write my release notes?

Connect a GitHub repository and merged pull requests are collected. When you tag a release, Shipnoted drafts notes written for your users, skipping chores and dependency bumps, and suggests which open requests the work answers. It is always a draft. Nothing is published until you read it and press the button.

What stops it from making things up?

The writer only sees your pull request titles, labels and descriptions, and is told never to add details that are not in them. You review every draft, and the live preview shows exactly what readers will see.

What are the shadcn components for?

Instead of an iframe or a third-party script styled to look like your app, you can install the changelog page, the “What’s new” popup and the feedback board as source files in your own repo. They read your data from our API and are yours to edit. If you do not use React, the script-tag widget does the same job.

Can I use my own domain?

On Pro and Team, yes: point a CNAME such as changelog.yourapp.com at us and we serve your pages there.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You can export subscribers as CSV, and releases and feedback are available from the REST API on Pro. Your readers’ email addresses are yours.

How does the free trial work?

Pro and Team start with a 14-day free trial. You enter a card to begin, nothing is charged for 14 days, and on day 15 the plan renews automatically. Cancel any time before that and you pay nothing. The Free plan needs no card and never expires.

What is the lifetime deal?

A single $149 payment for Pro for as long as Shipnoted exists, limited to the first 100 founders. It has no trial and no subscription.

Who makes Shipnoted?

Ballmac, the studio behind Ballmac UI and several Mac apps. Shipnoted grew out of the changelog and feedback pages we built for our own products.

Ship it. Say so.
