How the feedback loop works

Updated 2 November 2026

Closing the loop means telling people when what they asked for ships.

  1. They ask. A request arrives from your board, widget, email or Slack, with a number such as SN-12.
  2. You build it. Write Closes SN-12 in the pull request title, description or branch name. It links itself.
  3. The notes write themselves. Merged pull requests collect into a release draft.
  4. They are told. On publish, every voter with an email gets one message, once per release.

Emails to voters are part of Pro. If a pull request forgets the number, Shipnoted suggests a match for you to confirm; it never links on a guess.
